Delhi NCR is one of the world's largest urban agglomerations, spanning Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurgaon. Getting around can feel overwhelming at first, but the region's transport infrastructure has improved enormously. Here's everything you need to know.

The Delhi Metro — Your Best Friend

The Delhi Metro is one of the most extensive rapid transit systems in the world, with over 250 stations across 12 lines. It's fast, clean, air-conditioned, and remarkably affordable.

Key Lines for Noida Visitors

• Blue Line: Connects central Delhi (Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place) to Noida Sector 62, passing through key stations like Mandi House, Pragati Maidan, and Noida City Centre.
• Aqua Line: Runs through Noida from Sector 51 to Greater Noida's Depot station. This is the most useful line for guests staying in Sector 94 — the nearest station is Sector 101 or Sector 81 on the Aqua Line.
• Magenta Line: Connects Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden, intersecting with the Blue Line. Useful for reaching South Delhi and IGI Airport.

Fares and Tickets

Metro fares range from ₹10 to ₹60 depending on distance. You can use:

• Token: Single-journey plastic tokens available at every station counter or vending machine
• Smart Card: Rechargeable card with a 10% discount on fares — highly recommended for multi-day stays
• NCMC/One Card: Works across metro, buses, and some auto services

Operating Hours

First trains depart around 5:30 AM, last trains around 11:30 PM. Frequency is 3–5 minutes during peak hours and 5–8 minutes off-peak.

Ride-Hailing Apps

Uber and Ola are widely available across NCR. They're convenient, metered, and generally safe. A few tips:

• Always verify the driver's name, car model, and number plate before getting in
• Peak pricing (surge) applies during morning rush (8–10 AM) and evening rush (5–8 PM)
• For airport transfers, pre-book through the app for a fixed fare — typically ₹800–1,200 from Noida to T3
• Rapido and BluSmart (EV-only) are excellent alternatives with competitive pricing

Auto-Rickshaws

Auto-rickshaws are ubiquitous in Delhi and Noida. In Delhi, they should run on meters (minimum fare ₹25). In Noida, most auto drivers quote a fixed fare — negotiate before boarding. A typical ride within Noida costs ₹30–100.

Tip: Use the "Namma Yatri" or "Ola Auto" feature for metered auto rides booked through an app. This eliminates the negotiation hassle.

E-Rickshaws

These battery-powered three-wheelers operate on fixed short routes within sectors. Fares are typically ₹10–20 per person for 2–3 km hops. They're useful for last-mile connectivity — getting from a metro station to your destination within a sector.

Driving and Car Rentals

If you prefer driving, NCR has well-maintained expressways (Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, NH-24). However, inner-city driving can be chaotic. Self-drive rentals from Zoomcar or MyChoize cost ₹1,500–3,000/day depending on the car category. Always carry your driving licence and a valid ID.

Airport Transfers

IGI Airport (DEL) is approximately 30–45 km from Noida Sector 94, depending on the terminal. Travel time ranges from 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on traffic.

• Metro: Airport Express Line to New Delhi Station → Blue Line to Noida City Centre → Aqua Line or cab to Sector 94
